Buy a Plate and Show Your Commitment to Florida's Wildlife & Natural Habitats

When you purchase one of our five beautiful conservation license plates, every dollar goes to support the efforts of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) professionals who work hard to make sure that Florida's wildlife and natural habitats can survive. Not just for today, but for generations to come.

The Wildlife Foundation of Florida, working with the FWC, uses the funds raised by the Conserve Wildlife plate to provide assistance to a variety of programs. The funds raised by each of the other plates are used to support programs that benefit the species and/or conservation area indicated on the plate exclusively.

The BuyAPlate Program is managed for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission by the Wildlife Foundation of Florida. To learn more about us, call 1-800-988-4889, or visit our website: www.wildlifeflorida.org

License plates are also available at all State Tax Collector Offices.

Florida Aquaculture Tag Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute (HBOI) and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission are working together to design and test efficient indoor recirculating aquaculture technologies to produce large numbers of high quality juvenile sport fish, including redfish, snook and spotted sea trout, needed for statewide stock enhancement programs.

You too can help with the purchase of the Florida Aquaculture specialty license plate. Proceeds from the sale of this plate help fund the development of eco-friendly fish farming techniques to meet the ever-increasing demand for affordable, healthy seafood and aquarium fish. State Wildflower License Plate In 1513, Ponce de Leon named this land La Florida, "place of flowers." The Florida he saw was ablaze with the color of wildflowers - fiery red, soft lavender, gay yellow and more. Heavy development has since stripped millions of acres of La Florida of vital habitat and wildflowers, an essential of healthy ecosystems.

The $15 donation you make when purchasing the State Wildflower license plate sponsors native wildflower research, planting and education throughout Florida. By helping to fund projects like grade-school butterfly gardens, seed research and roadside beautification, you are reviving hundreds of native wildflower species upon which many of Florida’s animals, insects and ecosystems depend. Click here to purchase the State Wildflower license tag and find out more about it.

Indian River Lagoon License Plate Your purchase of the Indian River Lagoon License Plate directly funds reconnection of impounded salt marshes, shoreline stabilization projects, mangrove and spoil island restoration, treatment of stormwater runoff, and education efforts throughout the lagoon. All of the money collected from purchasing the “snook tag” in each county along the lagoon stays in that county, and is combined with proceeds from statewide sales to fund projects benefitting lagoon wildlife and habitats. Other funding sources double the dollars raised from tag sales. No salaries, administrative costs or studies are ever funded by lagoon license plate purchases — 100 % of your tax deductable donation goes toward lagoon restoration and education efforts.

Tampa Bay Estuary Program License Plate The Tampa Bay Estuary Program was created by Congress in 1991 to assist the community in restoring and protecting Florida's largest open-water estuary. Although it is surrounded by a rapidly growing metropolitan area, the bay's water quality has improved in recent decades, thanks to limits on wastewater discharges, dredging, and urban runoff. Today, the bay's scenic tapestry of sandy beaches, mangrove forests and underwater seagrass meadows supports vibrant fishing, boating, and other recreational activities.

Proceeds from the Tampa Bay Estuary license plate help sustain this remarkable recovery by directly involving citizens in bay stewardship through a community grants program. Eligible projects include habitat restoration, pollution prevention or environmental education initiatives. For more information, visit www.tbep.org

Protect Wild Dolphins License Plate Dolphins are known for their agility and playful behavior, making them a favorite of wildlife watchers. They are also sentinels of our oceans, helping us better understand the relationship between their well-being and the health of the environment we share with them. Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution directs the proceeds from the Protect Wild Dolphins specialty license plate to support the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured dolphins. Plate sales also fund education and research initiatives to increase awareness about the importance of protecting wild dolphins and their threatened coastal habitats. To learn more, go to www.protectwilddolphins.org.

Save Our Seas Florida License Plate Our vital ocean resources are being threatened by a variety of human activities including over fishing, unsustainable development and pollution, resulting in beach closures, harmful algal blooms and dying marine life. Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution directs the proceeds from the Save Our Seas Florida specialty license plate to support research and education on plants, animals and the environment in Florida's marine waters, with emphasis on the ecology of estuaries and coral reefs. Support ocean science for a better world. To learn more go to www.savefloridaoceans.org.

Protect Florida Whales License Plate Today, whales are threatened by disease, loss of habitat and other factors which lead to an average of one stranding a week along Florida's coastline. They are also sentinels of our oceans, helping us better understand the relationship between their well-being and the health of the environment we share with them. Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution directs the proceeds from the Protect Florida Whales specialty plate to support critical research, education, rescue and rehabilitation efforts focused on conserving the 12 whale species that inhabit Florida waters, including the Northern Right Whale-the most endangered of all great whale species.
